The Dayanand Arya Vedic Schools System, familiarly known as the D.A.V. Public Schools System is the single largest non-governmental education society in India. It is based on the ideals of the great spiritual leader, Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The D.A.V. system comprises of schools and colleges offering graduate and post-graduate degrees in various areas of study all over india. Formed on 1st June 1886, in Lahore by the prominent National Leaders like Lala Lajpat Rai, Gurudat Vidyarthi, Mahatama Hansraj & others, it manages more than 1000 institutions today. Schools hold the record for producing the largest number of toppers (class Xth and XIIth) as a single institution.
